C’è un nuovo Mant-Man in città!
Intervista a Marco Checchetto
The Newspaper (Periodicals St. Paul), created in 2007 and designed the new series of Italian Spider-Man, a project that sees work Marvel Comics, Panini Comics, Magazines San Paolo and VOC Studio. This series is also published abroad. In the same year began working with publisher Marvel Comics and produces the journal Marvel Comics Presents , tables Deadpool.
In 2008, again for Marvel Comics , deals with the minis erie Weapon Omega and works at No. 215 of X-Men Legacy . In 2009 work on the second volume of the second series of Squadron Supreme. At the same time he devotes to the project, designed by Stefano Vietti , Life Chronicles Zero. In recent years, Marvel Comics, is in charge of illustrations The Amazing Spider-Man and Daredevil. Finally, his incredible curriculum has enriched the spectacular clear that we are here to present, in which Mant-Man dominates with a renewed power and voltage.
To better explain the steps realizzazion and this manifesto, and to learn more about Mark and his world demonstrates, we planned on doing a short interview:
When we asked you to realize the obvious, what was your first idea, what did you think to accomplish?
When I heard and I've asked to produce the poster, in explaining what you wanted, it quickly turned out that the Palabam had never been represented. All previous authors had chosen a historical background of the city of Mantova.
Now Palabam chosen as the background, was used to represent a fun idea ... and so I thought to turn it into a spaceship, a choice that you loved it too.
After the Mant-Man made over the years by many different authors as you thought of making your hero art?
Although it was developed by the authors very different and has changed costumes five times, Mantova Man has its own identity, it is recognizable, it lacks only one of his comic book series. The difference with the previous posters in the background that is more in character. Surely, Then, an illustration is more "comic book" of the above (pass me the term). At first I wanted to make a digital painting to stay in line with previous editions, but I'm working on more and more convinced it would work better with the classic ink.
How would Mantova Man into an adjective?
Electric!
Did you have to write v ita to "your" Mantua Man?
E 'was great fun but very tiring! It's been a while since I ventured on covers / illustrations and I wanted to do a good job. It 'been a pleasure and an honor to join the club of designers Mantova Comics and Games.
you one of the Italian designers to be more successful overseas, where work on two spectacular heroes, like Daredevil and Spiderman, can you tell me how you managed to achieve this?
With hard work and seriousness. Do not ever ef deadlines at the cost of just three hours sleep per night in a week and I never stop questioning, always trying new graphics solutions. Seeking continuous improvement. The editors and readers seem to appreciate. :)
How changes in technical terms, to work for America rather than Italy?
In truth does not change much. Certainly, in Italy there is more control and at times the work done by the same writer is the editor.
In U.S. is freer, the designer certainly has more say than it happens in Italy, but it is also true that it is directly responsible for their own work. Errors are charged. I mean you have to be a little 'agent yourself.
What advice would you give to young writers who want to AFFA
cciarsi market bubble and intend to present their work to a national and international editor?
be a professional right away. Not to accept work if you are not able to maintain the agreements. Read a book a lot and keep up to date with comic books, movies, books and video games. To be very, very humble, especially newcomers, but at the same time to show the publisher that you are confident of their resources.
You illustrare i passaggi della realizzazione del manifesto, raccontandoci i segreti delle diverse fasi (Scketches approvati e no, matite, chine e definitivo)?
STEP 1: I made the decision that turned into a spaceship Palabam do was point to the laying of Mantua Man in the foreground. I sketched out a series of ideas to choose from. My favorite was the last, the idea was to do it adrift in space. In the end, by mutual agreement, we chose the more classical but more effective version number 2.
STEP 2: At this stage I set the weights of the illustration, I decided that I would use a post-apocalyptic background and started to better define the new custom of Mantua Man
STEP 3: Define and inking of the character, the background usually work on separate sheets in order then to maintain the assembled ation of the illustration in full freedom.
STEP 4: In questa fase ho attuato la stesura dei colori piatti.
STEP 5: Here, finally, I put the shades made, special effects el'assemblamento final.
